Shane Romines posted a Facebook video Friday pledging money for metal detectors in Corbin schools and challenging other community leaders to step up and similarly help defray expenses for smoke detectors in school districts. Romines and his firm, Copeland & Romines, promised $25,000 with a fraction of that money going to whatever expense the school system preferred - Tasers or firearms with appropriate training for staff. Since he posted that initial video he's offered more updates on the drive on the firm's Facebook page as others have stepped forward with interest or pledges for spreading the effort to other counties.
