LCA's Hayden scores 6 times, ties Homer's mark for rushing TDs

Domonique Hayden tied Derek Homer's career rushing-TD record (110) by scoring six touchdowns in the Eagles' 70-31 win against visiting Berea in the first round of the Class A playoffs.

Hayden's scores covered 9, 2, 12, 28, 11 and 1 yards. He ran for 217 yards on 19 carries. Homer starred at Fort Knox and the University of Kentucky.

Class 2A

Cov. Holy Cross 48, Owen Co. 10: Markel Walker threw three TD passes, ran for one, returned a punt for another and had two interceptions for the host Indians.

Class 3A

Sheldon Clark 36, Russell 14: Avery Ray ran for two touchdowns and caught a TD pass from Austin Steppe to lead Sheldon Clark (7-4) past host Russell (6-5).

Elizabethtown 37, North Oldham 30: Kyle Todd threw a 55-yard TD pass to Titus Sublett for the Panthers' winning score against North Oldham.

Breathitt Co. 26, Wayne Co. 0: University of Tennessee commitment Channing Fugate ran for 122 yards and two scores in the Bobcats' rout of the visiting Cardinals.

Class 4A

Lex. Catholic 62, Pendleton Co. 0: Greg Raglin scored four first-half touchdowns as the Knights jumped out to a 56-0 lead before cruising to victory in Lexington.

Boyle Co. 61, Bourbon Co. 0: Rees McShara ran for four touchdowns and 99 yards on nine carries in the Rebels' win against the visiting Colonels. Zach Hester also had three TD runs for Boyle (11-0).

West Jessamine 49, Harrison Co. 6: Junior fullback Duke Brown ran for 217 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries for the visiting Colts (9-2).

Class 5A

Doss 40, Anderson Co. 37: Doss handed Anderson County its second loss of the season, outlasting the the Bearcats in Lawrenceburg. Donald Bethel scored the last of Doss' three fourth-quarter TDs on a 36-yard run.

Class 6A

Clark Co. 28, Paul Dunbar 13: Trent Martin's 95-yard TD pass to Jordan Gatewood gave Dunbar (2-9) a surprising 14-6 lead early in the third quarter, but the Cardinals (8-3) scored three straight TDs to pull away in Winchester.

Bryan Station 42, Madison Central 0: Chaz Mitchell and Ricky Wolfinbarger each scored a pair of touchdowns in the Defenders' rout of the visiting Indians.
