LCA's Hayden sets another state record

Another week, another state record for Domonique Hayden.

The Lexington Christian star running back scored two more touchdowns in Friday night's 42-0 win over Fairview to break the state record for career points.

Hayden now has 723 points as an Eagle, which is one more than Herbie Phelps, who played for Old Kentucky Home in the early 1960s.

The LCA senior broke the state record for career touchdowns last week.

Hayden now has 119 total touchdowns and 102 rushing touchdowns for his career. He needs eight more rushing touchdowns to tie Derek Homer's state record of 110.

Hayden ran 22 times for 165 yards Friday night, teaming up with LCA quarterback Lucas Witt (14-for-22 for 200 yards and four TDs) to keep the Eagles offense rolling.

The LCA defense posted a shutout for the fourth consecutive week. Scout McCamy had an interception and a fumble recovery to account for two of the unit's four forced turnovers.

The Eagles' only loss this season was a 27-26 defeat to Lexington Catholic on Sept. 25. Since then, LCA (8-1) has outscored its opponents 200-0.
