Cody Fick hit a grand slam in Evansville's seven-run fourth inning, and the Purple Aces beat Kentucky 11-7 on Wednesday night at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

UK starter Sean Bouthilette (2-1), a freshman from Elizabethtown, worked three innings in his fifth career start, allowing six runs — five earned — walking two and striking out two.

Freshman Chase Greene relieved Bouthilette with no outs in the fourth after he allowed a single and a double to start the inning. But Greene lasted only one out, hitting a batter to load the bases, then giving up Fick's homer, his seventh of the season. Fick added two doubles and went 3-for-5 to lead Evansville (19-20).

Freshman outfielder Chad Wright led the Wildcats, reaching base four times and finishing the game 2-for-3 with two hits and two runs scored. Junior Gunner Glad hit his team-high seventh homer of the season, a two-run shot off the scoreboard in left center that tied the game at four in the third.
