Yet another top-100 prospect has committed to Kentucky.
Kastine Evans, a 5-foot-8 guard from Salem, Conn., called Coach Matthew Mitchell to tell him of her commitment Friday, according to the Norwich Bulletin, her hometown newspaper.
Evans, who chose UK over Cincinnati and Marquette, is ranked the 67th-best player and the No. 18 guard in the nation, by the recruiting web site Hoopgurlz.com.
The Norwich (Conn.) Free Academy senior averaged 19.7 points last year and led her team to a Class LL title. Evans told the newspaper that she chose UK mostly because of her relationship with the coaching staff.
The guard is the fourth ranked player to commit to the Cats for next season. The others are Jennifer O'Neill (No. 30) of New York, N.Y., Laquinta Jefferson (No. 64) of Lavergne, Tenn., and Samantha Drake (No. 74) from Nelson County.
Sarah Beth Barnette of Lexington Christian also has committed to UK and has a signing ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
