Born: Feb. 10, 1959, in Strickly, Pa.

High school: Moon Area High School (Pa.), 1978

College: Calipari lettered two years at North Carolina-Wilmington (1978-80) before transferring to Division II Clarion State, where he graduated in 1982 with a marketing degree. Calipari was the starting point guard for a top-20 team both seasons at Clarion.

Family: Wife, Ellen; daughters, Erin (senior at UMass) and Megan (freshman at Memphis); son, Bradley, 12.
