EKU teacher publishes second thriller

  • Eastern Kentucky University professor Derek Nikitas has released his newest book, The Long Division. This is the second novel from Nikitas, who is teaching at Eastern Kentucky University and working on his Ph.D. in English at Georgia State University. His first book, Pyres, was nominated for an Edgar Award and has been optioned for film adaptation by Vox3 Films. The book is reviewed by the Charlotte Observer.

  • Miley Cyrus appeared at Phoenix Hill Tavern after her recent show at Freedom Hall.
  • A New York distillery is producing a bourbon that has caused the New York Times to ask "Who needs Kentucky?" Tuthilltown Spirits makes Hudson Baby Bourbon Whiskey, which according to Tuthilltown, is the first bourbon whiskey to be distilled in New York. The bourbon is aged under a year, making it a "young" bourbon.
