- Security personnel at the United Nations allowed a faux Colonel Sanders to enter restricted areas last week, according to a report in Canada's National Post. The incident apparently was part of a publicity stunt by KFC to promote a new grilled chicken sandwich. A spokesperson for the U.N. said they could take legal action against the company, whose le tter, signed by KFC president Roger Eaton, asked U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to register the "Grilled Nation" of grilled chicken eaters as the 193rd U.N. member state.
- Max and Erma's restaurants is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to Business First of Louisville. Lexington has two locations and Louisville has two locations, according to the company Web site.
- The Kentucky Kernel reports on a new program at the University of Kentucky designed for veterans to ease the transition back to school. Among the efforts of the Veteran’s Resource Program is the elimination of the application fee for veterans looking to apply to UK.
