A third man was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder in the slayings of Ryan Shangraw, 20, and Harold ”Bo“ Upton, 19, in Lincoln County in February 2002.
State police charged Deonte Lamont Simmons, 25, of Richmond, with two counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of robbery and one count of burglary. Simmons is already in prison at the Western Kentucky Correctional Complex in Fredonia on drug convictions this year on two counts of trafficking. His sentences are 15 years and seven years, six months.

State police have arrested and charged two others with murder in the Lincoln County slayings, but their names have not been released because they were juveniles at the time. State police said more arrests are expected in the case.
