Kentucky State Police have arrested a Shelby County man on charges of third-degree sodomy, second-degree sexual abuse and first-degree wanton endangerment involving a juvenile.
The suspect, James H. Bell, 47, went to the Shelby County Detention Center at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday and confessed that he had "sexual encounters with a juvenile on multiple occasions in the summer of 2007" in Shelby and Logan counties, State Police said in a press release.
The victim was not identified by police. Later in the day, troopers and detectives searched Bell's Shelbyville home, but they did not say what they found.
"The investigation is ongoing and other charges are pending," police said.
