A skunk found in southeast Lexington has tested positive for rabies, the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department announced Tuesday.
It is the third animal to test positive for rabies in Lexington in 2009. Another skunk and a fox also tested positive for rabies.
The latest skunk was found near Walnut Hill Road. The health department urges residents who live nearby to make sure their pets' rabies vaccinations are current.
