LOUISVILLE — Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson says a fire that killed two young brothers may have been related to the power outage resulting from this week's ice storm.
Abramson said Sunday the house had electricity, but the family may have been using candles before the power was restored.
Nine-year-old Kierren Lindsey and 4-year-old Kaden Lindsey were killed in the Sunday morning fire.
The Louisville Courier-Journal reports their uncle, 18-year-old Trevor Maddox, was home with a friend, and they helped rescue 13-year-old Kijana Maddox. She was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Abramson said the battery-operated smoke detectors didn't appear to be working at the time of the fire, which destroyed the home and significantly damaged two neighboring homes.
