A Laurel County woman allegedly sent her two nephews on a "stealing spree" after giving them prescription drugs, according to Laurel County Sheriff Fred Yaden's office.
A detective charged Thelma Lee Thurmond, 32, of London with unlawful transaction with a minor, wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property, and tampering with a witness, Yaden said Friday in a news release.
Thurmond allegedly gave her two 17-year-old nephews Xanax and pain pills in late January, then sent them out to steal in more affluent neighborhoods.
The teens returned the same night with items they had taken from vehicles, including a laptop computer, a portable DVD player and a GPS device, authorities said.

One of the teens later had severe nausea from the pills, and his mother took him to the hospital in London for treatment.
After police began investigating, Thurmond attempted to tamper with a witness in the case, according to the news release.
