NICHOLASVILLE — A tip and a police search Tuesday night led to the discovery of 300 marijuana plants inside a Nicholasville house.
"It was a very high-tech operation," said Jessamine County Sheriff Kevin Corman. "I mean, it was the most sophisticated indoor grow I'd ever seen."
The plants were found when deputy sheriffs and Nicholasville police searched the house, said Jessamine Chief Deputy Allen "Doodle" Peel. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $600,000.
Kevin William Bedini, 26, of 105 Davis Drive was charged with felony cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Bedini remained in the Jessamine County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled May 18 in Jessamine District Court. At that time, a judge will hear evidence and determine whether there is probable cause to send the case to a grand jury for indictment.
