A Lexington couple was sent to the hospital after the woman's ex-boyfriend allegedly stabbed them.
Lexington police said David A. Erwin, 28, broke into a house at 223 Forest Park Road about 4:40 a.m. Sunday and stabbed his ex-girlfriend, Ashley J. Sullivan and her boyfriend, Joseph W. Sachs. Sullivan and Sachs, both 23, were on the couch in the family room, police Sgt. Ann Gutierrez said.
There were several other people in the home, but no one else was injured, Gutierrez said. Erwin fled the home, she said.
Emergency crews took Sullivan and Sachs to University of Kentucky Hospital with multiple stab wounds. Their injuries were not life-threatening, Gutierrez said.
Erwin was arrested at noon Sunday in Jessamine County. Gutierrez said Erwin was taken to UK Hospital for a "medical condition" that occurred between the stabbings and the arrest, but she declined to elaborate.
Erwin has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault and one count of first-degree burglary. Officers will take Erwin to Fayette County jail when he is released from the hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman said no information medical information was available for Sullivan, Sachs or Erwin.
