Versailles police officers continued Monday to investigate an early-morning car wreck that killed a University of Kentucky student and closed a major highway for nearly four hours.
Faith Frazer, 19, died of severe head trauma at the scene of an accident at 2:42 a.m. Monday at mile marker 66 on the Bluegrass Parkway, Woodford County Coroner Steve Ward said.
Frazer was driving east on the parkway when her vehicle drifted into the left side of the road. Frazer overcorrected twice and her vehicle crossed the median, Versailles police Lt. Daniel Clark said. The vehicle overturned and Frazer, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, Clark said.
Alcohol and speed are not suspected as causes of the crash, Clark said.
