Lexington police had not determined as of Sunday whether charges would be filed in relation to the Saturday death of a 2-year-old in a hot car, Lexington police Lt. Scott Blakely said.
April Knight died while she and two other children were being cared for by their grandparents. They had been out and returned home at 530 North Upper Street. The grandparents took one of the older children into the home to deal with an issue and thought that the other child was getting April out of the car, Blakely said.
After about two hours, he said, they discovered that the toddler was still in the car.
An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday, but a report was not available Sunday night.
