On Monday, a judge found probable cause to send the case of a Scott County Emergency Management captain charged with possession of child pornography to a federal grand jury for possible indictment.
Eric Dwayne Westerfield, 38, of Georgetown was arrested June 17 after a federal criminal complaint was filed.
Westerfield admitted that he used the file sharing program LimeWire to download images of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
The affidavit alleges that a DVD seized by authorities from Westerfield's home in March contained about eight sexually explicit images of children as young as 10.

Court records say state police also seized three images on Westerfield's computer showing suspected child exploitation.
