In a tribute to Michael Jackson, Lexington's popular re-enactment of his Thriller video will be staged Thursday.
The event will start at 8 p.m. at Cheapside Park downtown as part of the Downtown Lexington Corp.'s Thursday Night Live festival.
The Thriller re-enactment, a Halloween tradition since 2002, is presented by Mecca Dance Studio. In 2008, the staging boasted a cast of 200 people marching down Main Street, playing zombies from the iconic 1983 music video.
For Thursday's event, Mecca is looking for volunteers. "You and your wonderfully ghoulish zombie self are hereby invited to come, dressed as you are or in zombie apparel to dance once again to Thriller," said an event posting on Facebook.
Never miss a local story.
The video will be re-enacted twice, according to the Facebook posting, "so that audience members have a chance to join in on the second run if they like."
After Thriller, Jackson's music will be played continuously.
