RICHMOND — A trial is scheduled to start Tuesday in the case of a former Madison Middle School teacher's assistant accused of requesting sexual favors of a 13-year-old girl via text message.
Brandon Clay Rousey was indicted earlier this year on a charge of unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities. He was an Americorps volunteer at the school.
Rousey issued a statement shortly after his arrest in November in which he said that nothing inappropriate happened between him and the student other than the text messages. Jury selection is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
