A driver was killed in a wreck Thursday afternoon on 1-64 in Franklin County when he drove into a truck.
Kentucky State Police said Robert Hite III, 58, didn't notice that the freight liner in front of him was slowing for an accident that had already occurred. Hite, who was traveling eastbound, hit the back of the freight liner near mile marker 48. Hite's car overturned and came to rest on the shoulder.
Hite was pronounced dead by the Franklin County coroner at 3:40 p.m. on Thursday. The driver of the freight liner was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
