MOUNT STERLING — The case of a man charged with murder in the death of his stepbrother was waived Monday to a Montgomery County grand jury.
James Derek Stell remains in the Montgomery County jail, charged in slaying of David Dotson Jr. His remains were found earlier this month near Jeffersonville, south of Mount Sterling. Dotson, who had been missing since December 2007, was shot several times.
A preliminary hearing had been scheduled for Monday in district court. But the case was waived to the grand jury, which will consider it for possible indictment in August.
