Bill McDonald of Lexington has been named interim executive director of the World Convention of Churches of Christ, a Nashville-based ministry that works to build fellowship among Christian churches, churches of Christ and Disciples of Christ congregations. Each share a common history.
McDonald, who worked at Crestwood Christian Church from 1995 to 2008, retired last year after serving as a minister in Disciples of Christ churches for 42 years.
He now serves as a Disciples of Christ representative in the Stone-Campbell Dialogue, a forum that seeks to promote communication and cooperation among churches of Christ, Christian churches and Disciples of Christ.
As interim director of the World Convention of Churches of Christ, he will represent the convention at events and will share in its efforts to build understanding among the three religious groups.
