An autopsy was scheduled Friday for a Frankfort man whose body was recovered Thursday night in the Kentucky River, 11 miles from his last known location.
Hanley Peavler, 62, spent the night of Aug. 6 in his pontoon docked on the river near the Capitol Avenue bridge. His family called police when they didn't hear from him the next day.
Crews spent the week searching for Peavler in the river. A fisherman discovered his body about 7 p.m. Thursday in the Flat Creek area, Franklin County Coroner William Harrod said.
Peavler's death is under investigation, Harrod said.
