A former Campbell County Democratic Party chairman was sentenced in federal court in Covington on Wednesday to 97 months in prison for receiving child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Kenneth Lester Mullikin, 58, of Crestview Hills, was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Danny C. Reeves to remain under the supervision of the U.S. probation office for the rest of his life.
Mullikin pleaded guilty in June, admitting that he engaged in sexually explicit online chats with people who sent him images of child porn. In a plea agreement, he agreed that he was responsible for more than 8,000 images, some of which depicted children under age 12 being subjected to sadistic and violent behavior.
Under federal law, Mullikin must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
