WINCHESTER — The parents of a 16-day-old boy who died last March have been charged with murder.
Amanda Tolson, 23, of Winchester and Christopher S. Chandler, 24, of Georgetown were arrested Monday by Winchester police.
A Clark County grand jury indicted the couple last week on a charge of murder by "wantonly engaging in a course of conduct" on March 22, 2009, that resulted in the death of Lucas Chase Chandler.
The boy died March 25 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, according to his obituary with Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown. He was buried in Georgetown Cemetery.
Police told The Winchester Sun that the parents called an ambulance and said the infant "wasn't breathing right." An autopsy found that the boy died from blunt-force trauma to the head, the paper reported.
Tolson and Christopher Chandler were being held in the Clark County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bond each.
They are scheduled to be arraigned in Clark Circuit Court on Feb. 18.
