A Winchester teen killed Tuesday in a wreck on U.S. 60 in Clark County has been identified as Shawna Lynn Taylor.
Clark County Coroner Robert Gayheart said that Shawna, 17, was a senior at George Rogers Clark High School and an active member of Cathedral Church of God in Winchester. The community and the church lost a good person, said Gayheart, who also attends the church.
Taylor was driving west in a Nissan Altima about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control of the car. The vehicle dropped off the edge of the road and hit a utility pole. Gayheart said Taylor died of blunt-force trauma.
Two female passengers, ages 19 and 14, were taken to Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester with injuries that weren't life-threatening, police said.
