After an armed standoff with police on I-75 in Northern Kentucky Friday, a Morehead man was arrested after opening the door of his truck to urinate, a state police news release said.
Carl E. Lewis, 47, was sitting in his 1986 Ford pickup truck and threatening suicide around 11 p.m. in Crittenden, according to the release. State police, along with Grant and Kenton County sheriffs, responded to the scene. Lewis was unwilling to talk to police negotiators, the release said.
The standoff lasted for several hours until Lewis allegedly opened the door of his truck to relieve himself, and officers hit him with a Taser.
Lewis was arrested and taken to Grant County Detention Center. State police could not be reached for comment Saturday.
