A Lexington man took a bullet to the foot Friday during a drive-by shooting in north Lexington, police said.
Charles Green, 23, was walking on Winburn Drive with a friend around 5:45 p.m. when witnesses heard "popping sounds" that turned out to be gunfire, Lt. Chris Vanbrackel said. A car then fled from the scene.
Green had been shot in the foot and was taken to University of Kentucky Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition. His friend, who Vanbrackel did not identify, was not injured.
Police are investigating the case with little to go on, Vanbrackel said. Even the color of the shooter's car is unknown.
Never miss a local story.
"All witnesses had a different color," he said.
