A two-car collision in Lincoln County on Wednesday morning killed a 5-year-old girl.
The accident occurred at 7:58 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 127 and Ky. 2141.
Gordon Kaiser, 38, of Hustonsville, was traveling north on U.S. 127 when Amy Vonlinger, 31, of Hustonsville, who was merging off Ky. 2141, swerved into Kaiser's path.
Kaiser's vehicle struck the passenger-side doors of Vonlinger's car and pushed it to the guardrail, according to a release from Kentucky State Police.
Both Amy Vonlinger and her 5-year-old daughter Ryllie Vonlinger were taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, where Ryllie was pronounced dead.
Amy Vonlinger was later taken to University of Kentucky Hospital, where she was in fair condition. Kaiser was not injured. State police are investigating the accident.
