A West Virginia man was sentenced Tuesday to five life terms for killing an Eastern Kentucky woman and her two daughters, then setting their home on fire, according to the Ashland Daily Independent.
Robert Lee Drown pleaded guilty last week to murdering Jennifer Ison, 31, and her daughters, Shannah, 10 and Marisa, 3, in May 2007. He also pleaded guilty to raping Shannah Ison and setting their mobile home, in the Hitchins community near the West Virginia border, on fire.
Jennifer Ison was a labor and delivery nurse at Cabell Huntington Hospital in West Virginia.
Drown, who was sentenced in Carter Circuit Court, avoided the possibility of the death penalty by pleading guilty. He will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole, the newspaper reported.
