A businessman and former state senator died Tuesday at Heritage Health Care Center in his hometown of Lawrenceburg. He was 94.
Marvin Edwards was owner of Edwards Sausage Company in Lawrenceburg and co-owner of Travel World and Sports Center. Mr. Edwards served in the state Senate from 1961-64. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Mr. Edwards was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church and a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his son, Robert Bruce Edwards, and was preceded in death by his wife, Edyth May Hanks Edwards, who died last year after 73 years of marriage.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gash Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Edwards will be buried at at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions should be made to the Hospice of the Bluegrass at 208 Steele Street in Frankfort.
