A man identified by police this week as the suspect in a 2009 Lexington bank robbery turned himself in to authorities in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Jonathan Daykin, 35, is charged with first-degree robbery. Police said Daykin entered the Central Bank at 2233 Richmond Road on July 2, told tellers he had a weapon, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
DNA results recently came in linking Daykin to the crime, police announced Tuesday.
Daykin told authorites in Daytona Beach that he had an outstanding warrant in Lexington, according to a news release.
It isn't clear how long Daykin had been in Florida or what he was doing there.
