A state trooper was injured in Knott County Tuesday morning after his cruiser was hit by a truck.
Trooper Timothy Mullins was driving his cruiser north on Kentucky Highway 15 in Sassafras when a Ford F150 traveling in the opposite direction crossed the center line and hit Mullins' car "almost head on," according to a news release by state police.
The cruiser came to rest in on the median of Hwy. 15. The truck, driven by Elvis Crum, 53, of Pinetop, flipped over a guardrail and came to rest on its roof.
Mullins and Crum were taken to Appalachian Regional Hospital where they were treated and released. Both men were wearing seat belts.

State police said drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash. State police were still investigating Tuesday evening.
