A head-on crash of two pickup trucks Wednesday on U.S. 25 in Scott County killed a Lexington couple, officials said.
Brian Keith Way, 32, died at the scene, and his passenger, Anna Hamilton, 29, was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday at Georgetown Community Hospital, according to Scott County Deputy Coroner Leigh Hammond.
Way and Hamilton died from blunt-force trauma to the body, Hammond said. Police said neither wore seat belts.
According to Kentucky State Police, the wreck happened about 6:35 p.m. about 2 miles north of the Fayette County line.
A white Ford pickup, traveling north in the southbound lane, collided with the Toyota pickup, driven by Way, who was traveling south.
The driver of the Ford, Jeffrey Bailey, 46, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. He had been wearing a seat belt.
Investigators are waiting for toxicology results.
