A Lexington woman was charged Monday in connection with leaving a 3-year-old boy unattended in a running, unlocked car, police said.
Veronica Rodriguez-Serrano, 28, was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, police were called to the 1300 block of Village Drive, where they found the child asleep in a child seat in the running, unlocked 1995 Toyota Camry, Roberts said. The air conditioning was on but it was working poorly, police said.
Rodriguez-Serrano told police she had left the child for about 10 minutes while checking on another child at that address, Robert said. The child was unhurt.
