The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will offer residents free flu shots from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at Applebee's Park.
Free Flu Friday, a special one-day clinic, was designed to give as many as 3,000 shots, according to the department's announcement. The event will replace the drive-through flu-shot clinic that the department has held in previous years.
This year's vaccine will provide protection against the seasonal flu and H1N1, the department said.
Those who cannot attend Free Flu Friday can get a flu shot at Public Health Clinic North at 805A Newtown Circle and at Public Health Clinic South at 2433 Regency Road for $25. Medicaid, Medicare B, cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. No appointment is necessary.
Never miss a local story.
The clinics will be closed during the event on Oct. 22.
