A Midway man died Friday after a two-vehicle crash in Lexington.
Howard Lambert, 52, was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle, Rob Kandt, 57, was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital with minor injuries and released. Kandt is news editor at the Lexington Herald-Leader.
According to the Lexington police department's collision report, Kandt turned left from South Yarnallton Pike into the path of Lambert's truck, which was travelling outbound on Old Frankfort Pike.

Kandt, reached by phone Friday, said he did not see Lambert's truck approaching. He said the truck's engine caught fire after the crash, and passersby pulled Lambert from his vehicle.
Lambert was not wearing a seat belt, and his truck, a 1987 Chevrolet S-10, was not equipped with air bags, according to the collision report. The county coroner's report listed the cause of death as blunt force trauma to the chest and head.
Toxicology reports are pending, the police's release said. The coroner's report said that the death is being investigated as accidental.
