A Lexington man was displaced when his house was damaged in a fire early Wednesday.
The fire began at a home on 245 Zandale Drive about 1:22 a.m. Firefighters arrived within three minutes and reported that flames were visible over the roof of the house, Lexington Fire Battalion Chief Marshall Griggs said.
An addition on the rear of the house was heavily damaged by fire. The rest of the home and a detached garage were damaged by smoke, fire and water, Griggs said.
The homeowner, who was not named, was not home when the fire started. He is staying with a relative, Griggs said.
Griggs said the cause of the fire was under investigation Wednesday morning.
