A Berea woman was charged Tuesday in connection with the stabbing of a man at a Richmond motel, police said.
Sara L. Ritenour, 22, was charged with first-degree assault and possession of drug paraphernalia, Richmond police said. She remained in the Madison County jail Wednesday in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond.
At 3:29 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to investigate a stabbing at Super 7 Motel. A 30-year-old man told police that a woman stabbed him twice in the chest with a knife after a confrontation about money. The two knew each other, police said.
Officers located Ritenour in a room at the motel. She was taken into custody, and the pocket knife allegedly used in the stabbing was recovered, police said. A search of her purse found numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
