THE SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES horn sounds of Big City Groove kicked off the 2009 season of the Stonebridge Summer Concert Series in Wilmore on June 6. The open air concerts are held on the Downtown Green in Wilmore. The Saturday night shows continue through August. For a complete listing see www.wilmore.org .
SCHOOL DAYS AT CAMP NELSON
The Cold Mountain Revue performed for a group of Jessamine County 5th graders during School Days at Camp Nelson Civil War Heritage Park on May 29. The educational event brings hundreds of Bluegrass area elementary students to the park for a field day of history and fun.

HORSE FARM WORKER’S SCHOLARSHIPS The Horse Farm Worker’s Educational Fund is accepting applications for partial college tuition scholarships or technical programs from recent high school graduates. Applicants must be children of a parent or parents who work fulltime on a Central Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm and have done so for 3 years. SUMMER FREE LUNCH PROGRAM
Free summer meals for all children age 18 and younger are available at six locations throughout Jessamine County. There is no fee and no registration required for the United States Department of Agriculture program. The meals are available Monday through Friday, from June 8 to July 31 at the following locations: Rock Fence Park Shelter - noon to 1 p.m.; Lake Mingo Park Shelter – noon to 1 p.m.; Nicholasville Elementary Cafeteria – noon to 1 p.m.; Brookside Elementary Cafeteria – 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Early Learning Village Shelter – 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.; and Wilmore Elementary Cafeteria – noon to 1 p.m. For more information call Karen Barden.
