Retired salesman and Kentucky Wildcat Basketball fan Howard Smith, 67, took advantage of a sunny March Saturday to carry his homemade cross down Nicholasville's Main Street.
Celebrating Asbury University
Special chapel services, new signage, and 2,000 purple t-shirts drew attention to Asbury College's transition to Asbury University at a ceremony on Friday, March 5. During chapel Asbury president Dr. Sandra Gray celebrated the change by firing Asbury University t-shirts from an air cannon into the student body. Poetry Rocks Read-In
Students, staff and community members will read poetry in English, Cambodian, and Chinese at the Poetry Rocks Read-In, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 25 at East Jessamine Middle School. Other features include a student art display, a performance by the school chorus, and a bake sale to benefit Haiti and Chile earthquake victims. Childcare will be provided.
