Midway College Receives Gheens Grant
The Gheens Foundation, Incorporated, based in Louisville recently pledged $25,000 in funding to support Midway College’s $5 million Learning Resource Center currently under construction. The award will provide furnishings and supplies for a Teacher Education Resource Center.
Midway College President Dr. William B. Drake, Jr. worked with Executive Director Carl M. Thomas on the Teacher Education proposal. "This funding will enable us to continue offering the highest level of education to future teachers in Kentucky. We are so appreciative of this gift and look forward to future collaborations with the Gheens Foundation that will positively impact higher education, specifically focusing on the availability of education and achievement of all students in the Commonwealth," said Drake.

Grants awarded by the Gheens Foundation are for education and Christian works, both cultural and spiritual, to represent the late Edwin and Mary Jo Gheens. In January of 1994, The Gheens Foundation also made a gift to Midway College for the Little Memorial Library.
