Floriculture Team at State Fair
Tyler Houston, Makenzie Lizer and Lindsey Riggs of the Jessamine County FFA Floriculture Judging Team took a break at the Kentucky State Fair. The team placed 13th out of 31 teams in the state. (CK)
Living history to feature historic order reading

The Camp Nelson Living History Weekend will feature the reading of General Order No. 20 at 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18. The order established Camp Nelson as a Union Army recruitment center for African-Americans in 1865. The reading will be followed by the muster-in of the 12th United States Colored Heavy Artillery, a reenactment unit that is based at Camp Nelson. The Living History continues until 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday with artillery drills, cannon firing, music, and guided tours. More at www.campnelson.org.
