The best part of the package is by far, the cards and letters we write to our deployed troops. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be so far away from home for such a long time? Even if we weren’t in a war zone, we would all get pretty tired of being away from family and friends and the comforts of home. Long after the food is eaten and the baby wipes are gone, the cards and letters are still there to remind the soldier that he has not been forgotten.
Notes of encouragement from grateful Americans, family members, and veterans arrive in our office all the time. It’s such a blessing to see so many people getting involved with Military Missions to support and encourage our deployed troops.
We hope you will consider writing some notes of encouragement that can be included in our care packages, especially for Christmas. We will need well over 50,000 cards to ensure that each soldier gets at least 10 cards in his box. To find out how you can get involved visit www.opsend.org.
