Lexington police were investigating whether a man reportedly throwing snowballs at passing cars had a hand in a crash that sent a pedestrian to the hospital Monday night.
Officers were called to Versailles Road near South Forbes Road, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said. At least two people called 911 to report that a person had been hit by a car at about 10:30 p.m.
One caller, who was near the G&J Pepsi plant on South Forbes, told police a man wearing a red hat and a blue jacket had been throwing snowballs at cars in the area. Other witnesses reported seeing the man, Roberts said.
Police had not found the man reported to have been throwing snowballs Tuesday, Roberts said.

The person hit by the car was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, fire department Battalion Chief Brent Frizzell said. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
