A Harlan County woman died early Wednesday in a three-vehicle crash, state police reported.
April Williams, 34, of Baxter, was stopped in the northbound lane of U.S. 119, waiting to turn left to a side road, when 2003 Dodge truck driven by Michael Southerland, 19, of Wallins, hit her from the rear.
The impact knocked Williams' car into the path of a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Kim Simpson, 34, of Totz. Simpson's vehicle hit Williams' in the passenger side and knocked it into a guardrail, state police said.
Williams died at the scene.
