Both lanes of Seventh Street were shut down Monday afternoon after a semi truck hit a utility pole, causing downed power lines at about 3:17 p.m.
Battalion Chief Marshall Griggs of the Lexington Divsion of Fire said there were live electrical wires down in the street; a Windstream line had also fallen across the truck.
Kentucky Utilities had been notified about the electrical wires, Griggs said at about 3:30 p.m.
The driver of the truck was able to get out of the vehicle without injury.
Never miss a local story.
Griggs said the cause of the crash was not immediately known.
