Volunteers will gather at Lexington's Liberty Park on April 16 to plant trees as part of the 13th annual Reforest the Bluegrass event.
The goal is to plant 8,000 trees in four hours, starting at 9 a.m., according to a news release.
The trees will be planted on 4 acres along Liberty Road from Todds Road to Star Shoot Parkway.
Reforest the Bluegrass is a collaboration among several divisions and departments within the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government, led by the Division of Streets, Roads and Forestry, and some public and private businesses.
