Monday is one of the quietest days in the 10 days of racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, with most drivers and teams using the down time to work on their vehicles and get some rest after Saturday’s All-Star Race.
But there are a couple of special events, including kart races in Mooresville to benefit military veterans and a golf tournament sponsored by former NASCAR standout (and now ESPN analyst) Rusty Wallace.
This is what’s on the Monday schedule for racing fans:
Fans who have paid for special tickets will get a chance to race against NASCAR drivers such as Ryan Truex, Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr., Robbie Allison and Jeffrey Earnhardt. And for $10, you can watch the races.
There also will be a memorabilia raffle and autograph table. Proceeds go to Racing4Vets, a nonprofit organization that helps service-disabled military veterans.
Among those scheduled to participate: Former NASCAR champion Rusty Wallace, Michael Waltrip, Dale Jarrett, Denny Hamlin and The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore.
